Imagining China: from Hong Kong, Taiwan, and the South China Sea

The rise of China in the 21st Century has attracted attention in the world. As Taiwanese, we need to be even more vigilant to observe the changes and developments of modern day China. A good perspective would be to make sense of some recent actions by China towards its neighboring countries and regions, it may, to a certain extent, foretell possibilities for how Taiwan may be impacted in the future.
For this month’s Cafe Philo@Boston, we are honored to invite Dr. Sulmaan Khan and Anna Beth Keim as our speakers. From years of observation and research in China, Tibet, Hong Kong and Taiwan, Sulmaan and Anna Beth will share with us of their China perspectives. They will start with the recent Umbrella Revolution in Hong Kong, extending to the goals and intention of China over the disputed South China Sea and the Senkaku Islands. Please come and join us to discuss and imagining China!

This event will be primarily in English. Mandarin discussions are welcome as well!
